Drink Pink: Beverage Specials Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Drinking for a cause - it has the same amount of calories with half the guilt. During the month of October, 100 restaurants are giving back to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some of those include donating a portion of checks or a dollar from special food items, while several offer pink drink specials with proceeds going to charity. Take a gander at what supporters will be sipping this month.

The Bright Pink ($12) combines the Bitter Truth pink gin with pink peppercorn syrup, Campari, lemon and pink pearl apple. Fifty percent of proceeds from this specialty cocktail benefit Bright Pink (312-878-1212).

For a bit of bubbles, chose from either bottle on the “Drink Pink” menu which includes bottles and glasses of Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut ($76/bottle or $18/glass) and Moet & Chandon Rose ($89/bottle or $18/glass). $1 for every glass or $5 for every bottle goes to Bright Pink (312-880-1511).

The decor may be a bit butch, but this drink is for the ladies. One dollar from each Pretty in Pink Cocktail ($10) goes to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It is made with Ketel One vodka, pomegranate liqueur, Campari, fresh lemon juice, splash of sprite and garnished with a mint leaf (773-772-4322).

Victoria's Secret Martini ($9.75) does not involve lingerie  instead it has Svedka Raspberry Vodka, white cranberry juice, grenadine, ginger beer and lemonade. Proceeds from this cocktail also benefit the Susan G Komen Foundation (312-850-5005).
