As we move through October - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month - more places are stepping up for the cause. Brasserie Jo in the Back Bay is donating proceeds from its Project Turtle Martini ($13) to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, now through October 31. The cocktail is made with Avion silver tequila, agave nectar, rhubarb purée, lemon and thyme (617-425-3240). Wahlburgers in Hingham is donating 50 cents from each sale of tater tots also through the end of the month, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Massachusetts ($3; “Tot Pink” is the campaign; 855-924-5246). Salvatore’s Restaurants, in its multiple locations, is whipping up two panna cotta for dessert ($8), and donating a percentage of those dessert sales to the the Ellie Fund, a local nonprofit that provides support services, free of charge, to breast cancer patients.
