Catch the "Edible Selby" Book Tour

Illustrator, portraitist, blogger and all around cool guy Todd Selby is in town this week promoting his second coffee-table book The Edible Selby in which he focuses his lens on the kitchens, gardens, homes, restaurants and minds of some of the world’s most creative and dynamic chefs from Copenhagen’s Rene Redzepi to the Bay Area’s own Chad Robertson (Tartine) and Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese). His Wednesday night dinner at with Russell Moore at Camino is already sold out but there are still plenty of other events where you can check out the man and his work, but you have to act quick.


Catch Selby on the circuit as he touches down today in the Mission at Bar Tartine, where he’ll be on sandwich duties with Robertson, Bowien and Cortney Burnes during lunch (11 AM- 3 PM, 561 Valencia St, books and sandwiches sold separately).

On Tuesday, Selby will head to Hayes Valley’s Bar Jules where will be joined by the Japanese pop-up Peko Peko for party (6- 10 PM, 609 Hayes St, admission is $45 excluding cocktails, to reserve, call 415-621-5482). 

Selby's final appearance and fete will be this Friday at the SFMOMA, where he will be speaking on a panel with Blue Bottle Co. founders James and Caitlin Freeman. After the talk he’ll be signing books, then heading to the museum’s roof for a reception at the Blue Bottle Rooftop Garden (Doors open at 5 PM, panel at 6 PM, reception from 7- 8 PM; 151 Third St; free with museum admission, tickets available for pick up on Friday only at the Phyllis Wattis Theater entrance.
