Burger Alert: Caramel Apple Burger at Lucky Old Souls

In Matthew Feldman’s world, there’s no such thing as a boring burger. At the Lucky Old Souls burger truck, whose blueberry-jam-topped breakfast burger we featured in our 10 Hottest Burgers post, he’s constantly one-upping himself with creative patty combinations (inspired by the truck’s signature jazz tunes, perhaps?) It’s worth highlighting the special that will be on offer this weekend: a caramel apple burger.

Another sweet-and-savory creation, the grass-fed beef patty sits atop of thick slices of caramelized local Jonagold apples, and is then layered with sharp cheddar, house-cured bacon and housemade mayonnaise. If you think you can handle it, Feldman is also serving a caramel apple shake to go along. Find the seasonal sandwich at the Chestnut Hill Growers’ Market (11 AM-3 PM) and, assuming there are enough apples left, on Sunday at the Headhouse Farmers’ Market (10 AM-2 PM).

One more note: if you can’t wait for the weekend to get your LOS burger fix, stop by Love Park from 11 AM-3 PM for today’s special: a patty with mild but flavorful shishito and fushimi peppers, a fried egg and Lancaster County jack cheese.
