new Blue Plate Taco at the gleaming eco-friendly Shore Hotel is your place. The menu seems more inspired by Mexican cuisine than actually being authentic, but there are some tasty dishes and margaritas to be had. And since it's right across from Palisades Park, there's that view!
We kept it simple for a light lunch and grabbed three tacos - one with kale, mushrooms, corn and goat cheese; carnitas; and grilled mahi mahi. The tortillas held together, a first good sign. While the carnitas needed the little cup of jus that came on the side, and the fish was slightly overgrilled, the veg turned out to be our favorite mostly for its nonconformity. And the fact that truffle oil was mentioned as an ingredient but it was barely discernable (thank goodness). When the server says use the house-made chile vinegar and chile sauce, listen to him.
