Best Thing We Ate Last Night: The Roosevelt Hotel's OTHER Great Burger

It's funny that the biggest burger competition for 25 Degrees on that strip of Hollywood Boulevard is just across the lobby of the same hotel. We stopped in Public Kitchen + Bar after a little Prince concert at Jimmy Kimmel next door (yay, Hollywood!), and saw the burger going to a few tables. It is a gorgeous work of art, sitting pretty a few inches tall but simply built with a perfectly medium-rare beef patty, tomato, onion, lettuce and bacon on a lovely brioche bun. An eye-catcher, that's for sure. And turns out it's one of the best burgers we've tasted in awhile. 25 Degrees has fantastic burgers, too. In fact, Tim Goodell oversees both places, so there are similarities. But at least here you can get a dozen oysters or a grilled artichoke salad for an appetizer. If you want all sorts of sauces or different meats and toppings for a burger, try 25 Degrees. For this beauty? Public Kitchen or the lobby bar. And scene.

  1. "Gorgeous" is turning into the new "amazing."
