Aamanns Will Help TriBeCa Go Danish Next Week

Manhattan has had a lack of smørrebrød since the East Village's Vandaag closed down a while back, but next week the open-faced sandwiches will return when an NYC branch of Copenhagen's Aamann's opens in TriBeCa. The eatery has been in the works for a while now, in addition to the traditional fare the owners plan to offer cultural events and performances. The 2,000 square foot space can seat 50 diners, but it will also play host to Danish filmmakers and performers, and the owners hope that the expat community will drop by and make it a second home (it will play host to traditional meals like julefrokost or “Christmas lunch”). Aamanns opens on November 2, get more info here (13 Laight Street).
