A Week Of Drinking: Chicago’s First Craft Spirits Week

The founders of Chicago Craft Sprit Week started their idea with a little jealousy. After witnessing the success of Craft Beer Week, they searched the internet to find the liquor equivalent. Alas there was none. The group of independent distillers and industry folk pooled their resources and declared Oct. 1-6 the first Craft Spirit Week, which includes seminars, tastings and dinners to celebrate the booming local booze movement.

Check out the full calendar here, and take a look at our picks for the week below.

Monday: Meet Your Local Distillers
Open only to industry professionals, the distillers from FEW, Koval, Letherbee, North Shore, Quincy Street and Tailwinds will teach the ins and out of whiskey, gin, rum and agave-spirits at Jerry’s Sandwiches from 7-10 PM.

Tuesday: Left Coast vs. Third Coast - American Gin Smackdown
