Dim Sum at Shanghai: Right on schedule, this new Shanghainese restaurant in the Castro is rolling out weekend dim sum brunch. Well, not exactly rolling out. Don't expect cart service; the kitchen will be taking table-side orders of har kau shrimp dumplings, siu mai pork dumplings, BBQ pork buns, shrimp on toast, won ton in red chili sauce, crab claws wrapped with shrimp mousse and Xiao Long Bao. Dim sum available Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM- 3 PM.
Remix Brunch at Trace: This SoMa hotel restaurant has debuted a new brunch format that includes a mixture of booze, bites and beats. Each weekend brunch, local DJs will be spinning different genres-- deep European house music, electronic dance, etc.- and chef Paul Pipsopo has added new breakfast-and-booze pairings to the a la carte menu - think bacon and cocoa nib waffles with a bourbon sunrise or a Bloody Mary pizza paired with a housemade bloody. The pairings, which include a bottle of Zico Coconut Water, are $26 all-inclusive. In addition, guests can mix their own bubbly drinks at the Bellini bar which will be set up in the center of the restaurant. A list of the forthcoming musical themes and the full brunch menu are available online. Remix Brunch is offered Saturday and Sunday 7 AM- 2 PM.
