Yuengling Giving Away Free Lagers for National Drink Beer Day on Friday

In Philadelphia, when someone orders “a lager,” chances are they mean a Yuengling. America’s oldest brewery is a local favorite, founded in nearby Pottstown Pottsville, PA in 1829. As of this year, Yuengling is also America’s largest brewery (Budweiser, Coors and Miller are all produced by foreign-owned conglomerates). To celebrate this milestone, Yuengling is holding a citywide toast on Friday, September 28 - which also happens to be National Drink Beer Day - and is giving away a free beer to every over-21 Philadelphian. Fifth generation president and owner Dick Yuengling will lead the toast from the South Philly Chickie’s & Pete’s at precisely 6:30 PM, and you can head to one of over 250 bars across town to watch the live broadcast and raise a glass of free beer. We’ll drink to that!

    1. No, it's Pottersville, from the Frank Capra movie (and American tradition) 'It's A Wonderful Life'...
