Weekend Planner: Make Some Pizza and Eat on a Farm

Dinner is served...next to that apricot tree.
Pizza Party
Tonight, guests at Frasca's can do more than eat a gooey delicious pizza made with fresh and customized toppings. They can make it themselves. The joint's pizza-making class returns with wine - sweet. Learn how to flip dough during this hands-on demo which begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets cost $30 per person (773-248-5222).

Dance Under the Star
Big Star is hosting a music festival on Saturday with free entry, tons of tacos, local DJs and Tecate. The first annual Dust Up festival will take place in the parking lot of the popular summer bar. Music starts at noon for all, but the shindig is limited to guests 21 and older after 4 PM (773-235-4039).

Summer's Over
Summer is over, but don’t let it slip away without a drink special and party on the patio of Bridge Bar and Fulton’s on the River this Saturday from 12 to 4 PM. Drink specials include half off Bridge Bar’s Draft Dodger Cocktail pitchers made with light and dark rums, fresh lemon juice, house simple syrup, agave nectar, black stripe bitters, Jamaican and Peychaud bitters. Food will be picnic style BBQ with burgers, ribs and hotdogs and jerk lobster rolls (312-822-0100).

Down on the Farm
Sunday, one of the restaurants that grows produce on the roof will take freshness further with a round-trip bus trip leaving at noon to Mick Klug Farms. The two-hour journey to St. Joseph, Michigan culminates in a tour of the farm followed by a family-style dinner in the field created by Carnivale executive chef David Dworshak. Tickets cost $95 per person (312-850-5005).
