Union Market Opens in NoMa This Weekend

The much anticipated recasting of the historic Union Market in burgeoning NoMa will debut tomorrow, Saturday, September 8. The EDENS development will include food vendors, artisans and lifestyle shops, complete with sit down space for customers to enjoy their wares. Some 40 vendors will eventually fill the space, but initial ones will include Gina Chersevani’s (Hank’s Oyster Bar) soda shop, Buffalo and Bergen, serving boozy or virgin fizzies, shakes and egg creams, Rappahannock River Oysters, and brick and mortar locations of DC Empanadas and fusion taco purveyor TaKoreanRighteous Cheese will be selling seasonal and local products, paired with drinks at a small bar.

On Sunday, the Market will host an ice-cream competition. Visitors will receive free tasting tickets and can buy full-size servings (1-4 PM).
