Truck Stops: Peddler's Creamery, Great Balls on Tires Coming to DTLA

Bicycle-churned goodness

Two popular food trucks, er, one truck and one bike, are setting up shops in Downtown LA soon. First is Peddler's Creamery, Edward Belden's ice cream concept which he's been (literally) peddling around town for a couple of years. Already known for its variety of bicycle-churned ice creams and sorbets in flavors like chocolate chili, salted caramel, Thai iced tea, and kicky kumquat, Belden hopes to have his shop (458 S. Main St.) open by October 7. [via LAist]

Also near Main and Fifth, Clint Peralta and crew are working on obtaining a liquor license for the Great Balls on Tires restaurant, which will determine whether it's a late-night spot or not. Still, the idea of having the Ciao Balla, or any meat or non-meat ball sandwich, without tracking down the truck is a great idea. Then again, the truck has been mostly doing private events until this brick-and-mortar shop gets off the ground. [via GS]
