The Oinkster Celebrates Six Years With $6 Burgers and Beer

When Andre Guererro opened The Oinkster in a former Jim's Burgers in Eagle Rock, we're pretty sure he coined the phrase "slow fast food." Or some marketing genius on his team did. Because that's exactly what it is - slow-rosted pulled pork sandwiches, amazing pastrami, burgers, fries that can't possibly be fried once, real milkshakes. All the makings of a typical burger joint's menu, all made fresh and served to you in a relatively fast time.

Now, six years later, the formula has been replicated many times, but there's still a lot to be said for Guerrero's original with its pastrami sandwiches, patio and shakes. To celebrate the milestone, many Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives repeats, and one new location in the works, the Oinkster crew will throw down six $6 burger specials "from the past, present and future" on Friday (Sept. 28). Expect classics like The Royale, a third-pound cheeseburger with bacon, chili, pastrami, dill pickles, onions, tamot, lettuce and Thousand Island dressing, and other favorite burger knock-offs from its popular Burger Week menus. To add to the festivities, Eagle Rock Brewing will take over all the taps for beer drinking. Celebrate like it's your birthday.
