Lemonade at Terminal 5 this week is Skewers, the new yakitori concept from Iron Chef Morimoto. There's a wide selection of kushiyaki, robata-grilled meats and seafood served over rice and vegetables, and kushiage, panko-crusted and fried meats and seafood. There are also salads, soups and breakfast items. All easy stuff to eat there or take for the plane. In Terminal 7, a new Wolfgang Puck Express also debuted yesterday. Never one to miss a photo op, Puck was there making pizzas for the cameras (and the mayor). While we've all stopped at WPE at one time or another, this is a newer concept for Puck because it has a sit-down area for table service, but also a self-ordering kiosk for grab-and-go salads, sandwiches and the like.
Both restaurants are a part of the Delaware North Companies' plan to bring better food to the airport. The group is also behind the forthcoming Original Farmers Market spots Monsieur Marcel, Loteria Grill and others, which will open in "the near future."
