The 10 Best Bars in New York

Louis 649
What would New York be without its vibrant nightlife scene? Well, a lot more boring, for one. We recently released our 2012/13 New York City Nightlife guide, which lists reviews and ratings for the city's best lounges, clubs, dives and watering holes. In fact, 1,047 nightspots are covered, as rated by 5,719 surveyors. The below slideshow features the 10 best spots to hit in the PM - the diverse group contains some fancy cocktail dens, an old-time favorite or two and even a bowling alley. Click through to see the best joints for a beverage or three, and let us know about your favorites in the comments.

    1. You're a joke. I dare you to come by and let one of the bar tenders prove to you that Geneva is a solid bar. Drop by on a sunday with a date, if your hater ass can get one, and try and have a bad time.

  2. Why would you make a list of the "priciest" cocktails in the city? Arent you supposed to be helping us find "value"? "Bang for our buck"? And what's with "all the freakin' citations"?! Lame lame lame and this Top Ten list finally got me to "unsubscribe." TIME OUT NY and even the DAILY NEWS do "a far better job" with "shit like this."

I believe the topic of this article was The Top 10 Bars in New York', so I guess that would probably include the most expensive. Knowing how Zagat makes a list, I'm sure they make a list that would include 'more bang for your buck' at another date. If that's what would cause you to unsubscribe I guess it's no great loss.

  5. The problem is not that Bemelmans and some of the other pricy bars are pricy. The problem is that very few of them have good cocktails.

  6. Went to Raines Law Room last week. While the cocktails we good (and not that pricey)and the atmosphere lovely, the service was the WORST I have ever experienced. 15 minutes from being seated to having the server come over to take our order. 35 minutes from order to receiving the drinks. Won't go back there again.
