Tasty Burger Opens Second Locale in Southie, a Third to Open Next Month

Tasty Burger is growing its beefy empire. The burgers-shakes-and-fries retro shack opened its second location in Southie - 69 L Street at Broadway - on Saturday. This locale is takeout only, with a limited menu. The basics are here: burgers, fries, shakes and dogs. But no chicken sandwiches, no chips with the works. You’ll have to go to Fenway, the original location, for that, or wait for store number three: Tasty Burger is slated to open another location next month at 40 JFK Street and Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge.


The Harvard Square location will have two floors and offer the full menu as it is at the Fenway location. The ground level will be a self-service, eat-in dining room; the downstairs will be similar to Fenway with a jukebox and a pool table, and it will serve beer and wine. This locale will have a 4 AM food license - perfect for the college neighborhood. What about the next Tasty Burger depot? “Once we get to Harvard Square we’ll see,” says Betsy Miller, Tasty Burger’s director of Human Resources and Operations. We'll bet the fries on a number four.
