Seafood Unlimited Reopens in Rittenhouse

As restaurant strips go, 20th Street in Rittenhouse is a mainstay. For over 20 years the street has hosted flourishing restaurants of all kinds, and there’s been no real slowdown of late (Shake Shack and Spread Bagelry are two of the newest - and most popular - additions). Seafood Unlimited, first launched by David and Judi Einhorn in 1988, has just reopened near the Spruce Street corner with more space, a new look, later hours and a refreshed menu.

The bar is now double in size with 10 seats, complemented by eight new taps pouring craft beer and a reverse happy hour with specials offered every night from 9 PM-close. Half a dozen seats have been added to the dining room, which now sports a larger version of a colorful mural by Magic Gardens artist Isaiah Zagar. To make sure the expanded capacity maintains a great atmosphere, new ceiling tiles have been installed that keep decibel levels at a pleasing level.

Seafood classics like clam chowders and fresh fish have been joined on the menu by new options such as fish tacos, a salmon burger made with both smoked and fresh salmon, and mini lobster rolls. The restaurant is open daily at 5 PM (270 S. 20th St.; 215-732-3663).
