From Eat Real to San Francisco's Cocktail Week to Oktoberfestivities, this weekend is crazy busy with a cornucopia of ways to eat and drink yourself silly.
Tonight: L.A.-based chef Susan Feniger will be at Omnivore Books in Noe Valley tonight talking about her newest cookbook "Susan Feniger’s Street Food" (6-7 p.m., free, 3885 Cesar Chavez).
Friday-Sunday: The Eat Real Festival starts tonight with its ticketed event Meatopia. If free or vegan is more your speed, head over to Jack London Square Saturday and Sunday for an endless line-up of DIY food crafting demos, butchery demos, live music and the Bay’s best street-food vendors (free, all weekend long, Jack London Square, 65 Webster St., Oakland, see complete details).
Friday-Sunday: San Francisco Cocktail Week continues throughout the weekend with tonight’s Legends Awards and after-party, Saturday’s Altered State Fair and Sunday’s closing fete at St. Georges Spirits (Held throughout the Bay Area, get tickets here).
Saturday: Head to Hayes Valley and raise a stein this Saturday where the Bavarian-inspired Suppenkuche (starting at noon) and sister pop-up Biergarten (starting at 3 PM) will be hosting Oktoberbest festivities. Look for special Oktoberfes biers, traditional foods and a new limited edition T-shirt.
Saturday: The California Wines Road Trip event allows you to drink without driving. Just simply take public transportation to the Ferry Building Market Place Grand Hall this Saturday and sample 60 different California wines and schmooze with the producers would made them (2–5 PM, 1 Ferry Building, $35 per person includes wine-friendly snacks such as salumi and cheese).
