So, you're on the hunt for other singles in NYC and you're not feeling
The Wren (which, in case you haven't heard,
is a great pick-up bar). Well, maybe you should check out Principessa, a new SoHo joint that quietly opened a few weeks ago. The brightly lit room is decked out in white, a fitting backdrop for area shoppers to gorge on some Italian cuisine (the eatery offers dishes like thin-crust truffle pizza and several handmade pastas).
That's all great, but what we really like is the push toward social "interaction." In this age of OKCupid/Grindr/Blendr and whatever other silly digital meeting zones there are, it's nice to see a joint kick it old school and encourage the exchange of digits with their napkins. This weekend they're launching brunch with a $15 pizza and Prosecco deal (199 Prince St.; 646-682-7377).
Best atmosphere and food in downtown new york. Highly recommend
