| Last year's festival |
Over at Wyebrook Farms, chef Jonathan Adams (Pub & Kitchen) will be preparing a five-course meal at part of the farm's inaugural dinner series using meat and produce from the property and its neighboring farms. The intimate evening will begin with a champagne toast and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a rooftop candlelit dinner featuring beef tartare with egg yolk purée, ratatouille and crispy rice paper; Wyebrook porchetta with roasted squash and Castle Valley Mill polenta; and lime leaf custard with graham cracker crumble. Farmer Dean Carlson and Chef Adams will also both be on hand to discuss the menu (7 PM; $80 inclusive, BYOB; 150 Wyebrook Rd.; reservations can be made by e-mailing info@wyebrookfarm.com).
If you'd rather stay in the city, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will be hosting a festival that day at the Philadelphia Navy Yard with music, food, a biergarden, workshops, gardening tips, children's activities and more. Stars of The Chew - Carla Hall and Daphne Oz - will be there leading demonstrations and awarding giveaways (9 AM-5 PM; for more information click here).
