NYC's Big Gay Ice Cream Truck Rolls to LA Next Month

The one, the only Salty Pimp
Yep, it's true. Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff are bringing their Big Gay Ice Cream Truck to Los Angeles October 23-27. If you're not familiar, the popular New York truck and now brick-and-mortar shop serve delicious soft serve ice cream and cover it in things like wasabi pea dust, cayenne pepper and curried coconut. One of the top sellers is the Salty Pimp, vanilla soft serve drizzled with dulce de leche, sprinkled with crunchy sea salt and dipped in chocolate. Come on. We're giggling like school girls just thinking about it.

Territorial New Yorkers are worried that they have to share the truck with us, but Quint and Petross said in their Google+ Hangout that we won't get everything they serve in NYC - no milkshakes - but we will get cones and sundaes (Salty Pimp!). We'll also get some LA-specific flavors, since they want to collaborate with local chefs like Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook to create custom tastes. And Newyorkina's paletas will make their West Coast debut on the truck.

Locations will be confirmed in the beginning of the month, but Santa Monica is likely since the two will be working with the Kogi team. The Grove is also a possibility. And since they'll be working out of the kitchens of Duff Goldman's Cakemix and probably Animal, you might even see it around those neighborhoods too. Keep your eyes on the BGICT Facebook page and Twitter (and here) for updates.
