For tomato lovers,
Kendall-Jackson’s annual
Heirloom Tomato festival, happening on this Saturday, is a not-to-be-missed outing. Unfortunately, the day-long tomato extravaganza is already sold out but here’s a hot tip. If price is no object, you might want to get on the horn today and grab yourself a ticket to the event’s exclusive
“Chef Tables in the Vineyard” benefit dinner being held this Friday evening which will be
prepared by Mario Batali and
Guy Fieri, along with a dozen Sonoma-based chefs including
Douglas Keane (
Cyrus),
John Ash,
Charlie Palmer (
Dry Creek Kitchen), John Stewart (
Zazu),
Perry Hoffman (Etoile),
Steve Litke (
Farmhouse Inn) and
Domenica Catelli (recurring Iron Chef judge and co-owner of
Catelli’s).
Aside from being wined and dined off the local larder and K-J wines, guests of the benefit dinner, which
will raise funds for Fieri’s Cooking with Kids Foundation, will be seated at the table with one of the host chefs and gain admission into Saturday’s festival. General seating is $350 per person, but those willing to fork over a cool $3,000 will get festival tickets plus a seat at the VIP table that is being hosted personally by Batali and Fieri. To grab tickets for the Chefs Tables in The Vineyard (while they last) and see the complete line-up for the weekend’s tomato festival, go to the Kendall-Jackson
website.
