Knackig Sausages Popping Up at Mignon Downtown

Bratwurst, knackwurst, kasekrainer, Polish links - LA's love affair with sausages will never cease. And this Sunday, you'll get even more when Knackig debuts at Mignon in Downtown LA's Historic Core, a weekly pop-up from the wine bar's owner, Santos Uy (who also owns Papilles), and Kevin Stuart of Infinity Imports. They're grilling sausages right out front, serving them with potato salad, plus German beers and wines in the bar. About the name: The word "knackig"(pronounced ki-NAH-kig) refers to the snap or "pop" of an authentic German sausage. Ah, the jokes just write themselves when it comes to sausage parties.

Bonus: The first 50 people who show up on Sunday (Sept. 16) gets a free sausage. Takes place from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Come October, Knackig will take place Saturdays and Sundays for Oktoberfest (128 E. 6th St.; 213-489-0131).
