Admit it, you love Italian food - in our last NYC Restaurants Survey, 32% of respondents said it was their favorite cuisine. This week, Tre Stelle in the Flatiron District will try to quell those cravings for pasta, at least temporarily. The eatery has been in soft open mode for a couple weeks and had its official debut last night - the good news is that you won't be weighed down by buckets of red sauce at this joint, since the focus is on light and healthy ingredients. There's not a drop of cream to be found on the menu, which features dishes like gnocchi with tomatoes and shrimp in an almond sauce and octopus salad with mango, grapes and basil.
The restaurant offers a happy hour where you can score a plate of free breads, meats and cheese if you order a cocktail or glass of wine - clearly this is the time to drop by for a visit. Brew lovers can geek out over Baladin, a rare Italian label that's available on the list - if you want to check it out the new restaurant is currently open at 39 West 24th St.
