First Look: Koi SoHo, Opening Tomorrow at Trump SoHo

Japanese restaurant Koi will start slinging sushi Downtown tomorrow. The eatery has had a branch at the Bryant Park Hotel since 2005, and the newest location will also be in an upscale lodging, taking over the space in the Trump SoHo that used to house Quattro Gastronomia Italiana. The restaurant is spread over two floors that are connected by a spiral staircase - downstairs there is a dining room with warm woods that are offset with colorful plant life and upstairs there's a candle-lit lounge for those who want a bit of intimacy with their crab rolls.

There is a lot of carry over on the menu - but there will be some items that are exclusive to this locale, including grilled salmon with honey balsamic glaze and roasted shishito peppers stuffed with shrimp. It's the fifth location of the concept, in addition to the Midtown edition there are also branches in Vegas and Bangkok. We'll see if this joint can make it in a hood that wasn't so friendly to its predecessor. Koi SoHo opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow (246 Spring St.).
