Fast-Food Smackdown: Taste Testing Chain Restaurant Gut Bombs

If you're looking to indulge, fast-casual chains have you covered. From 1,200-calorie creamy vegetable dips to 1,800-calorie fried entrees, there are plenty of menu options to choose from if you're not worried about packing on the pounds (we're jealous if that's the case). But for those of us who are concerned about our waistlines, we did the homework for you and tried the most caloric dishes at six common chains. Are the indulgences worth it? Check out the slide show below to find out, and share your opinions in the comments below or via social media channels using the hashtag #fastfoodweek.

  1. It isn't about calories, it's what is IN the food. Genetically modified ingredients, artificial chemicals, factory farmed meats. Why is ZAGAT not covering these topics?

  3. What is the big deal about Boston? Most of your emails are about that great city. However, it is many miles from the West Coast. How about some concentrating on our side of the country??

  4. How could you forget the Bloomin' Onion at Outback's (and other similar places). It's more than 2200 calories for a SINGLE ONION!!! You'd be better off eating a whole stick of butter! You'd be better off eating THREE sticks of butter!!
