|Autumnal sipping at Rivera|
Nibble on all the spanikopita, gyros, baklava, dolmades and souvlaki you can muster at one of the longest running Greek fests in Southern Californiat. The 54th Annual Pasadena Greek Fest at Santa Anita Park has plenty of food, a beer and wine garden, live entertainment, a marketplace and kids' zone. Entry fee is only $5, food and drink costs extra, and all benefits the Anthony Greek Orthodox Church. Friday, Sept.14 through Sunday, Sept. 16 (285 W. Huntington Dr.).
We won't really feel like fall in LA until, oh, November, but you can sip autumnal flavors at Rivera starting this weekend. John Sedlar's Downtown restaurant just launched its new fall cocktail list that includes Julian Cox creations like the seasonal Autumn Sour (D'anjou pear-infused rye whiskey, bonded apple brandy, cinnamon bark syrup and an apple chip) and Pistachio Negroni (sous-vide pistachio gin, Campari, Spanish red vermouth), plus a focus on Latin rum and sherry cocktails.
Eat lobstah, and lots of it at the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival. $10 gets you into the event, which includes everything from live music to cooking demos, tastings and pirates (yes, pirates). The lobster dinners cost extra ($19) and includes coleslaw, potatoes and a very generous amount of butter. Friday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Sept. 16 (1190 Nagoya Way).
