Eat This, Drink This, Do This: LA's Weekend Planner

Spicy stuff at BCD Tofu House
Eat This
The Korean BBQ Cook-off is now A Taste of Koreatown, which takes place on Saturday from noon to 5 PM. Expect more than just Korean restaurants - El Cholo and Papa Cristos will be there - but also area favorites like BCD Tofu House, Park's BBQ and Hamji Park. Bonus: There's a beer garden with Firestone craft brews and soju cocktails. Participate (or just watch) the spicy tofu challenge, roll your own kimbap, or check out LA's largest bowl of bibimbap. Admission is $2; food and drink costs extra. Find the party on Hobart Street between Wilshire Boulevard and 7th Street.

Drink This
Ammo has always been known for its market-driven fare, and now it has a cocktail program to match. Incoming bar manager Jonny Ericsen, who was mixing things up in Portland and New Orleans before that, just launched a new list including refreshing drinks like the Orange Crush, a perfectly delicious late-summer sipper made with Prosecco, Aperol, a little orange juice and fresh thyme, and the Copper Cup with gin, Cynar, Dolin vermouth and orange bitters. Sit at the bar and sip a spell (1155 N. Highland Ave.; 323-871-2666).

Do This
Barnsdall Friday wine tastings may be over, but that just means there's room for Saturday Movie Nights at the Hollyhock House. Things jump off this weekend with Drive, plus food trucks Heirloom LA and Border Grill (or take a picnic). Eagle Rock Brewery and CitySip are serving beer and wine - three glasses come with every ticket. Cost is $25 (movie and beer/wine) or $10 (movie only). Additional beer and wine can be purchased for $5. Gates open at 5:30 PM; movie begins at 7:30 PM.
