| Booze + ice cream = goodness |
Casa del Mar's lobby and veranda bars now offer special milkshakes featuring LA Creamery ice creams. There are several options, but the Cold Rush (honeycomb ice cream with bourbon and honey), Spiced Pirate (spiced rum and milk chocolate crunch ice cream), or even the non-dairy Herbal Rush (vodka, green chartreuse, ice and almond milk) sound pretty happy. Available through October.
At The Fat Dog on Fairfax, there are now Drunken Udder booze-spiked ice cream cones. They come two per order for $10, served in a funky cascading stand - order five and it looks even better. The flavors change regularly, but a couple you'll find now are Baileys with Irish whiskey-caramel, and burnt honey orange with candied pistachio and honey whiskey. There's even a special brunch float made with vodka-infused raspberry sorbet and Champagne. Someone has to make brunch-time bottomless vodka-sorbet mimosas happen (801 N. Fairfax Ave.; 323-951-0030).
