Coming Soon: Asian Brasserie by Novikov

Novikov - the Russian-owned restaurant and bar in Mayfair - might be loud, expensive and flashy but it is also packed every night of the week. (There is even a bouncer at the door who decides if you are allowed in.)

Not one to do anything by halves, owner Arkady Novikov who has over 50 restaurants in Russia, is planning a second opening in London. Asian Brasserie by Novikov is slated to open in November on the former site of the Brompton Quarter Brasserie in Knightsbridge. The space will have a similar look and feel to the original Mayfair restaurant with the kitchen and private dining room on the ground floor and more relaxed and cosy cocktail area downstairs.

The menu hasn't been confirmed yet but will feature mostly Pan-Asian dishes except for a European breakfast. Also launching next door is the Grocer by Novikov. Open daily from 7.30AM-11PM, this casual (by Knightsbridge standards) pit-stop will include a dim sum counter and deli selling sandwiches, takeaway dishes presumably for dinner parties, wine and sauces.

Dress up, smile at the bouncer and find out what all the fuss is about.
