Ninth Avenue in Chelsea will get a small new watering hole dubbed Pastai this November, but the 32-seat wine bar will serve more than just vino. The focus will be house-made pasta, which will be produced on-site in a kitchen area that's enclosed in glass, letting drinkers watch the chefs at work as they sip their beverage. Options like cavatelli, penne and fusilli will be served, along with a slew of gluten-free varieties, house-made salamis and some gelato for dessert. The menu is from chef Melissa Muller Daka of nearby
Eolo and when it's warm, there will be a 12 seat alfresco area in a backyard herb garden. Stay tuned for the opening at 186 Ninth Ave.
