| The bar at Chef Geoff's Rockville |
Geoff Tracy opened the fourth location of his American bistro concept Chef Geoff’s in Rockville last week. Wide-ranging, moderately priced menus, commodious bars and family-friendly vibes have made the other locations neighborhood go-to spots in DC and Tysons Corner. Happy hour, sunset dining and an ever-changing array of deals add to their appeal.
In Rockville, Tracy brightened space that had once housed a popular Houstons. At the clubby bar, pizza and burgers are joined by the likes of crispy plantains with guacamole, lobster croquettes and chorizo pigs in a blanket, along with craft beer, wine and strong drinks. Lunch and dinner menus add salads, pastas, seafood and internationally flavored dishes such as lamb kofti and spice-crusted steak with chimichurri to the mix.
News that Geoff Tracy will be living in New York City part-time now that his wife Norah O’Donnell is cohosting CBS This Morning broke just as this latest eatery was opening. Tracy insists that he will maintain a strong family presence in DC. Indeed, it is reported that he plans on opening several more local locations of his namesake concept.
