Break the Fast With Street and the Schmuck Truck

Street scene/Brandon David
Whether you're observing Yom Kippur or not, here are a couple of tasty ways to break the fast today and tomorrow. Susan Feniger and Kajsa Alger whipped up a few specials for tonight's dinner menu at STREET, all available after 5 PM. Jewish classics and seasonal dishes like blueberry crusted noodle kugel, white cheddar-stuffed latkes, house-made bagels with smoked fish spread, pumpkin puree with cauliflower hazelnut vinaigrette, or artichoke and feta fritatta are available a la carte alongside the regular menu (742 N. Highland Ave.; 323-203-0500).

On Thursday (Sept. 27), the Schmuck With a Truck celebrates with a sandwich deal - buy one, get one free all day. Just mention "break the fast" for your extra Fiddler on the Reuben, Oy Vey Wrap or Schmuckwich, a sweet peanut butter and jelly with banana and dark chocolate. The truck will be parked at 5900 Wilshire Boulevard near LACMA from 11 AM to 3 PM.
