Best Thing We Ate Today: Salad Quartet at Lemonade

A drive-thru is not a requirement to call something fast food, nor does the food have to be fried (not that there's anything wrong with fried food). Stop into any Lemonade - there are nine locations around LA now, including a new one at LAX - and you can be in and out with a bunch of salads, soup, and a tall cool lemonade in less than 10 minutes. Well, as long as you're decisive. Choosing what salads you want can be daunting if you're a waffler. We usually try to color code it: orecchiette and asparagus, red quinoa with tomatoes and basil, multi-colored cauliflower in a peppery vinaigrette, and farrow with white and lima beans and chickpeas. For some reason our regular 'green', sugar snap peas or kale, were out just at the moment we walked through the line. Still, this combo was a satisfying, clean and tasty lunch. And fast.
