| The Famous gets boozy in Glendale |
Earlier this summer it was announced that the King Eddy Saloon, one of Downtown LA's best dive bars, and the oldest bar on Skid Row, was bought by Michael Leko and Will Shamlian, partners in nearby Library Bar and Urbano Pizza Bar. That meant that the inevitable gentrification process would take place, and that day is night. While Leko and Shamlian say they're just giving it a slight cosmetic overhaul - they're keeping the name - be sure the drink prices will go up and the cast of characters who (sometimes) show up at 6:30 AM, when the bar opens, will no longer be there. If you want to to go "Where nobody gives a s*&t about your name," you have a few weeks still. [via KCET]
