Where to Eat Pasta With Clams in London

If you can't go to the seaside this summer, then seek it out in culinary form in the shape of pasta alle vongole (pasta with clams). Here are five places to find our favourite summer dish.

La Famiglia
Don't be put off by the slightly bizarre disclaimer on the menu, which describes the spaghetti with fresh clams, parsley, garlic and chilli as "rather salty." It tastes delicious, and there is no added salt - just the natural flavour of the sea (7 Langton St., SW10; 020 7351 0761).

Tinello
Classic spaghetti is served with clams, chilli and tomato sauce at this neighbourhood spot backed by top Italian chef Giorgio Locatelli (87 Pimlico Rd., SW1; 020 7730 3663).

L'Anima
Chef Francesco Mazzei offers his unique take on the dish by offering a variety of different types of pasta with clams (1 Snowden St., EC2; 020 7422 7000).

Mele e Pere
For something totally different, take your clams with straccetti pasta, broccoli and chilli at this small trattoria in Soho (46 Brewer St., W1; 020 7096 2096).

Ripe Tomato
The baked seafood pasta at this Notting Hill local is served straight from the oven, still wrapped in foil. Quite simply, it tastes like a day at the seaside (7 All Saints Rd., W11; 020 7565 0525).
