Crush in Old Town
Sip away the end of summer when this annual festival takes over Wells Street from North Avenue to Schiller for two days of food, music and booze. In addition to the libations, the Crush marketplace will feature custom artwork and unique merchandise for sale.
Chef Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia will take on Iron Chef Marc Forgione Sunday at 9 PM on the Food Network. Regardless of the battle’s outcome, fans can try the meal he prepared for the show at his restaurant next week. The five-course, secret ingredient driven menu costs $85 per person (312-441-1920).
q Turns Two
Chicago q celebrates its second anniversary on Tuesday and doesn’t want any presents. Instead they ask you to join them for some bison ribs or pig powder pork wings and they will give 10% of all proceeds to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The celebration also features Birthday Cake-tini and complementary “pigcakes,” also known as cupcakes decorates with frosting pigs (312-642-1160).
