Weekend Planner: London, August 30-September 2

Who are you calling a meathead?

Flat Iron - the pop-up steak and cocktail project upstairs at The Owl & Pussycat  - closes on Saturday (September 1). Meat lovers should get down there fast and take advantage of the closing weekend Wagyu special for just £16. No bookings.

Popular Mexican street food chain Wahaca is now open on Charlotte Street on the site of 3 former townhouses. The impressive new space includes a Mezcal Bar on the top floor and a Tortaria market shop selling Mexican sandwiches, burritos, tacos and tortas to go.

Book now April Bloomfield's two day residency at St. John on 30 & 31 October. The NYC-based chef who has spent time in the kitchen at The Spotted Pig, The Breslin and The River Cafe will be working with Fergus Henderson at his hotel and restaurant in Chinatown (020 3301 8069).

Duck & Waffle gets one step closer to opening for 24 hours by introducing a breakfast menu. Start you day with the signature Duck & Waffle (fried duck egg with mustard maple syrup) or the Foie gras all day breakfast served with a view from the 40th floor of the Heron Tower.
