We honestly can't get enough outdoor movies at restaurants and lounges around town this summer. Alcove in Los Feliz has one screening left for September, and last night we had a blast watching St. Elmo's Fire under an almost full moon on the roof of the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills (movies every Tuesday night). Nearby, Bouchon has to-go or dine-in menus (including the famous fried chicken) for flicks shown in the Beverly Canon Gardens every Sunday. And now The Station, the large outdoor lounge at the W Hollywood, adds Monday night movies and NFL football beginning next month.
The first screening on September 10 features Sunset Boulevard, a perfectly Hollywood classic, projected on a 35-foot screen. After that, it's Swingers on September 17, and Tim Burton's Batman on September 24. Make a night of it and grab dinner at Delphine ahead of time, or order small plates and film-themed cocktails off the lounge menu. And for you football fans, Monday Night Football games will be shown before the movies. Screenings are free and seating is first-come, first-serve (6250 Hollywood Blvd.; 323-798-1360).
