The Sausage Invasion: Top Spots to Get Your Links in LA

A classic from the Brats Berlin truck
Forever it seemed like the only place to get a sausage and a stein was at The Red Lion in Silver Lake, but over the last few years we've seen a sausage invasion in Los Angeles. It's almost as if burgers became passé - even if burger and beer joints are opening almost weekly now - and hot dog houses proliferated. Now bratwurst, bockwurst, currywurst, chorizo, merguez and gourmet exotic sausages are taking center stage. With fries? Yes. Beer? Usually. Check out our slideshow to find the best of the wurst and everything in between.

  1. Great article, if you do one for SF, please include Caspers Hot Dogs with 8 locations in the East Bay - family owned and operated for almost 80 years!

    1. We definitely didn't overlook Slaw Dogs. We included it in our Hot Dog roundup, which is linked in the article, and it made our Best Thing We Ate recently. Big fans! We're just trying to throw love to different places.
