Chicago Restaurants survey confirmed what we all already know: Stephanie Izard is hot. Her Girl and The Goat was named one of the most popular restaurants in town, and today we scored some more details about her followup project, Little Goat. Located in the West Loop, the new joint will serve diner food, but don't expect frozen French fries. It will be all about the fresh, local ingredients - which Izard will use to create classics like a patty melt and beef cheek stroganoff. The decor will be based around a classic '50s diner, but there will also be an artisan bread and coffee shop on the premises, something that we doubt existed in Don Draper's era.
The coffee shop will convert to a beer bar in the PM, when the 120 seats will surely be full of Izard groupies. If you want to get really close to the Top Chef winner, the establishment will also feature a cooking school and demo kitchen on the second floor. The whole complex is scheduled to open this October - stay tuned (820 W. Randolph).
