Spots Still Left at Diner en Blanc, August Chefs Coming to City Grit

Diner en Blanc
Massive pop-up picnic Diner en Blanc is set to draw 3,500 guests to an undisclosed location on August 20. The shindig is in its second year in NYC - guests have to dress all in white, bring their own tables, chairs and food and are not allowed to bring alcohol. If you've been dying to break out those white pants before labor day comes, there are apparently some spots left. You can register here. If you don't get in, the wait list will likely be given priority for next year's event, so you should still hit the site and sign up.

Those of you who want a taste of New Orleans should take note of an upcoming dinner at City Grit, which has been killing it with awesome guest chefs recently (we heard a lot of great buzz coming out of Paul Qui's dinner series). Next Tuesday (August 21) chef Mike Gulotta and pastry chef Kelly Fields will come up from NOLA's restaurant August to cook a five-course dinner. The meal starts at 7:30 PM and costs $175 per person - the proceeds will go to Chefs Move, a scholorship program for young chefs stated by John Besh. Get info here.
