Dassara hope the lingering heat doesn't get in the way of your ramen cravings. Former line cook Josh Kaplan (
Milk Bar) and fellow co-owner Justin DeSpirito are teaming up with Canadian chef Marc Giroux to offer affordable spins on traditional Asian offerings - think deli ramen (chicken broth with matzoh balls and
Mile End smoked meat), alongside tonkotsu, savory rice cakes and broiled oysters. Expect the 40-seat, industrial influenced concept to officially open in the former Chestnut space on August 15 (271 Smith St.; 718-643-0781).
