Pork Slope Will Keep A Candle Burning for Patrick Swayze, Literally

The paper will soon come down at Pork Slope
Fans of former Top Cheffer Dale Talde have probably heard of his plans to open Pork Slope, a Roadhouse-themed bar that will debut in Brooklyn next week. Last night we dropped by his namesake restaurant and found the chef excited about the pending opening, if not a little anxious. "I hate all my food," he admitted - but of course the diners slurping up noodles in his packed dining room would clearly disagree. With the opening only a few days away, he seemed relieved that there are only a few items on the menu, giving him more time to perfect each dish.

The new haunt takes its inspiration from the Patrick Swayze movie of the same name, and they aren't treating the subject lightly. A portrait of Patrick will hang in the bar and there will be a candle burning below it at all times. Expect more images from the movies, including a picture of all the bouncers lined up and ready to go. The joint opens on August 18, which also happens to be Swayze's birthday. At that point it's gonna be last call - for action.
