Is there a dish more American than a burger? Pizza is great for sharing at parties, and hot dogs come into their own at picnics and ball games, but there’s something about a burger that exemplifies what American food is all about. You can find them thick and thin, dressed down or gussied up, suitable for an everyday snack or fancy enough for a decadent special occasion. The best part is there are always new versions to try. Where should you go for your next patty fix? A challenge: try these 10 hot burgers (we did!), and let us know your fave.
Just FYI it's Robert Aikens who is the Head Chef not Tom Aikens who is my twin brother in London who has his own restaurant Tom Aikens. Sincerely, Robert Aikens

DeleteNo mention of sketch burger in Fishtown? I'm always surprised how great that sandwich is.
ReplyDeleteRoyal Tavern's burger is the best in Philly I've had. Just the thought of it makes me want to get out of bed right now and go get one

ReplyDeleteBest Burger after a show? Don't want to spend a whole lot of money on those pretentious places in Center City? Try Oscar's on Samson St.Some folks call it a dive.I call it down to earth and good. They have good drinks, beer and nice people serving them.
ReplyDeleteDoes Zagat give a awards for most down to earth place to eat?
Agreed on Sketch! Best turkey burger in the city, in my opinion.
