Dubai has been know to borrow a restaurant idea - or five - from London. Everything from Rivington Grill to Baker & Spice, Gordon Ramsay, Gaucho Grill, Zuma and La Petite Maison are all now open in the UAE. But finally the time has come for Dubai to return the favour.
Okku - the popular Japanese bar and restaurant - is opening in a huge 18,000-sq.-ft. space in St. James in early September, and we hear they plan to keep the look and feel of the Dubai original (think big and flashy). We'll be happy as long as they keep signature dishes - like spicy tuna on crispy rice and Wagyu foie gras skewers - on the menu.
