August 24 is national waffle day, who knew? Well, Kennedy's Restaurant and Bar did, for one. The Midtown West eatery will be starting happy hour early tomorrow, at 10:30 AM. And what's for breakfast? Waffle-infused vodka, naturally. Georgi Vodka has actually produced a waffle-flavored label, and the restaurant will serve as the launching pad for the spirit. We're thinking maple syrup would make a tasty chaser for a glass of that.

If you don't want it in shot form, you can try the Waffle-tini, which contains a mini waffle garnish. Yeah, it's a gimmick, but it was too good not to write up. The press release even had a little history lesson: " The Pilgrims first brought waffles to America in the 1600s. Thomas Jefferson introduced the first waffle iron on American soil." Waffle day = our new favorite holiday.
