New Mid-Day Meals at Trattoria Neapolis and Bow & Truss

Brunchtime at Bow & Truss
As of this weekend, there's a new brunch option for NoHo and environs. Bow & Truss, the new Latin-inspired spot from the same group behind The Federal Bar, debuts a new menu with dishes like chorizo and cotija cheese-stuffed waffles, lemon-strawberry crepes, breakfast tacos, stewed navy beans topped with fried eggs, and creamy saffron polenta with quail eggs. There are also Bloody Mary "infusions," Spanish mimosas and fresh sangrias. Starts Sunday, 9 AM to 2 PM (11122 Magnolia Blvd.; 818-985-8787).

And on Monday, Trattoria Neapolis will begin lunch service in Pasadena. People have been flocking to the new Italian spot for wood-fired pizzas and cocktails, and you'll find a few new salads, including a poached tuna and arugula salad on pizza crust, and hanger steak with greens and gorgonzola fonduta, and sandwiches, like smoked chicken with tomato pesto and balsamic onions, and wood-grilled vegetables with buffalo mozzarella and salsa verde.
