Just because summer is almost over doesn't mean we're ready to stop eating burgers. In fact, new fall openings have brought about some awesome new options in cities around the United States (and across the pond.) Whether you live in or are visiting NYC, LA, SF, Philly, London, DC, Chicago, or Boston, check out the slideshow of the hottest new burgers to try this fall below. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Once again Zagat has disappointed! Can the editors not get the heck out of their rut?? There are a wealth of other cities in the United States of America besides NYC, LA, SF CHI, Boston & DC. You might try St. Louis, Dallas, Denver, or even, (God forbid) get into a car amd go to Amarillo, or Boise.

I know it is asking a lot from a travel and food site to actually get out of the office and try to find something out of the way.

    4. Yes, Zagat and what about the rest of the Planet. OK Kudo's for throwing a couple of London joints in there but how about Canada? Toronto - Vancouver - Victoria - or Calgary and Edmonton - can you say Alberta Beef?

  2. And now for my two favorites: The Hopmonk Burger at either Hopmonk Tavern (Sonoma, or Sebastopol...both in CA, about 1 hour N of SF). Grass Fed beef (yum!) topped with white sharp cheddar, deep fried shallots (cry tears of joy), home made tomato chutney (yes!!) and lemon aioli. The flavors blend so well. Comes with fries and aioli to dip them in. Sweet potato fries are the best.
And then, in Bloomfield Hills Micigan Beau Jack's knows how to sautee mushrooms better than any place I've ever been. Burger with sauteeds mushrooms and sautéed onions is what we used to it. Its been a few years so dont know what you can get now. Oh, and a martini!!

  3. Go to Kuma's Corner in Chicago! All the locals will direct you there. Best burgers in the city.

  4. Really Zagat? Not a single burger from the Hamburger Capital of the U.S.... Dallas on your list? Hard forme to take this list seriously. If you're in "Big D", try Angry Dog, Lee Harvey's, Wingfield's, Maple and Motor, Dairyette, The Grape, or Keller's! All diffferent, all awesome!!!

  7. The Kobe Beef is a Lie

Though perhaps a great source for ideas for next summer's backyard barbeque party, one thing is for sure: The Kobe beef sliders in Boston (and any other joint outside of Japan) is a lie. Why even include the burger in the list?
Kobe is wonderful and I hope all beef lovers have a chance to try it along with other Japanese beefs, but you will not find them for sale in the US.

Further, any publication that would promote false advertising is wrong and should not be supported.

    1. Das right the only Kobe in the US plays for the Lakers. Best burger is on my grill with some cheddar melting out from the middle of the thick hot USDA Prime mess.
